Stories of caregiving, love, and becoming a parent to adults

About Me

About Me: Discovering My Path as a Caregiver

I am a scientist by training who has spent some time in corporate management. It’s taught me a lot about how to show up, listen, and lead with intention.

But my real education came elsewhere: in anxiety-filled nights, in hospital corridors, and in the space between hope and acceptance.

I am Indian, spiritual aspirant, and a lifelong introvert who learned to wear professional personas well. I read voraciously, try not to think too much, and believe that suffering—when faced with grace and courage—can teach us things no textbook ever could.

For the past several years, my life has been woven through caregiving. I care for my 97-year-old grandmother. I’ve walked alongside my parents through illness and loss. I’ve navigated the complex terrain of supporting in-laws while holding down a demanding job.

My Guru is my lifeline. HE is the cause and the purpose of my existence, and the reason I am able to go on every day. HIS teachings are my anchor. When I’m drowning in the logistics of caregiving, in guilt, in helplessness, in the weight of being needed—I return to those teachings. They may not always make the suffering easier, but they give me the resilience to power on.
